You can greatly reduce and permanently remove unwanted hairs on any area of your body. We have multiple wavelengths of light to target as many types of hair as safely as possible.

Best For

Unwanted body and facial hair

We utilize special wavelengths of light which target pigment in the bulb of a hair follicle to kill and reduce unwanted hair growth. A series of 6 treatments is recommended for all patients to receive the best results.

We absolutely LOVE laser hair removal because, who wouldn’t want to throw their razor away? It can be life changing to remove areas of hair that you are constantly maintaining with shaving or waxing. Your skin can feel silky smooth after completing a series of laser hair removal. Even men can benefit from this amazing treatment! We can treat nearly every area on the body and face. A consultation highly recommended to assess your hair and determine if you are a good candidate.

The specific wavelength of light targets the melanin in the bulb of the hair follicle, and causes enough damage to kill the hair. However, the hair needs to be in the correct phase of growth, and the growth cycles vary depending on the area of your body or face. We will recommend you continue treatments on a timely manor to insure we target the hair follicles in the best time of the cycle and continue to reduce the hair growth each treatment. It is also very important that the hair has enough pigment in the Bulb of the hair. It will not work on white, gray, light blonde, or red hairs It is common for all patients to need a minimum of 6 treatments done consecutively and then maintenance treatments every few months or at least once or twice a year. You will not regrow the full amount of unwanted hair, but your body does have “dormant hairs” that aren’t targeted during treatments and then randomly start to grow later on throughout your life. It is very important to keep a consistent schedule and continue maintenance treatments occasionally to maintain the best results.

Frequency of Treatment:

Facial hair has a very fast growth cycle, so we recommend treatments of the face be done every 3-5 weeks for the initial series of 6. Body hair has a slower growth cycle, so we recommend treatments be done between 4-8 weeks for the initial series of 6. Maintenance treatments are discussed at the last treatment of your series and your laser technician will help determine when and how often to do your maintenance treatments. At Skin & Tonics we only charge full price for the first 6 treatments, and once they are completed you can continue maintenance treatments on that same area for a greatly reduced price!

Appointment times vary depending on the size of area to be treated. Facial hair or smaller areas can be treated in as little as 15-30 minutes. Large body areas will need a longer appointment time between 60-90 minutes.

There is a large variety of pricing depending on the size of area to be treated. Average price for facial hair ranges between $100-180 per treatment. Body areas range between $150-400 per treatment. Discounts area applied when multiple areas are treated at the same time. Skin & Tonics will offer a greatly reduced maintenance pricing range for clients that have completed a full series of 6 treatments on an area. If a client has had laser hair treatments at another office and wish to continue with us at S&T, we will assess the area and give a specific price quote fitting for the size and remaining amount of hair.

We start with a brief consultation to assess your hair and insure you are a good candidate for laser. Then we will plan out your series of 6 treatments in a timely manner.

Laser Hair Removal can leave the skin pink and slightly irritated with a sunburned sensation for a few hours after treatment. Cold compresses post treatment can greatly help with the irritation. After your treatment, you will notice dead roots pushing their way out of your skin over the following couple of weeks.

You must avoid sun exposure, tanning or spray tans for at least 2 weeks prior to your treatment in that area to be treated with laser. Shave the area a couple of days prior to treatment. Please discuss any new medications with your laser technician including antibiotics and hormones, as these can have side effects with photosensitivity.

Avoid sun exposure, tanning, and spray tans for a week after your treatment. Avoid direct heat on the area treated for the day or two after, including hot tubs, soaking in hot baths, saunas, heating pads, and light therapy. Lightly exfoliate or shave the area after 5-7 days to help remove some of the dead hairs and promote the dead roots to push their way out more quickly. If you plan to take a vacation in extreme sun or have plans that involve sun exposure during the coarse of your 6 treatments, please plan ahead with your laser technician and space your treatments appropriately to insure the best results as well as protecting your skin.

It is not pain-free, how ever it is very tolerable and we utilize a Zimmer Cryo chiller to blow frosty cold air at the treatment area which helps cool your skin but also helps distract the patient.

YES, laser hair removal doesn’t work on white, gray, light blonde or red hairs…..because these color types do not have enough pigment in the bulb of the hair to absorb the laser light.
